As we celebrate Pride Month, we acknowledge the resilience, courage, and progress that has been made in LGBTQ+ rights and the advancements in societal attitudes.

Moonlight
Moonlight holds significant importance within the LGBTQ+ community as it portrays the experiences and struggles faced by a young, queer African-American man. The groundbreaking film provides representation and sheds light on the intersectionality of race, sexuality, and identity.

Carol
For the LGBTQ+ community, Carol is seen as a powerful representation of same-sex love that defies societal norms and expectations. It provides visibility to lesbian relationships and portrays the complexities of coming to terms with one’s sexuality in a repressive environment.

Milk
Milk is highly regarded within the LGBTQ+ community as a powerful and inspiring portrayal of an influential figure in queer history. Attend LGBTQ+ Events

June 16th: LGBTQ+ Night at Dodger Stadium – Los Angeles, California
LA Pride is joining the 10th Annual LGBTQ Night at Dodger Stadium. They will show their support for the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, who will be present to accept the Community Hero Award at the pregame award ceremony. The Dodgers vs. The SF Giants game will feature a 50/50 raffle, with proceeds going to the Los Angeles LGBT Center, a leading provider of programs and services for the LGBT community.

June 16th: Pride Movie Night – Visalia, California
In 2022, Pride Movie Night started as an imaginative idea for The Source LGBTQ+ Center. They aimed to raise funds, sell out the Fox Theater, offer free tickets to all attendees, and feature a renowned LGBTQ+ film. This experiment was a remarkable success, thanks to the support of individuals and businesses. Now, they’re looking to make the 2023 event even more significant. Please consider attending or sponsoring Pride Movie Night at The Fox 2023 on June 16th so The Source LGBTQ+ Center can create an even bigger impact.

June 17th: Pride in the Park with glendaleOUT – Los Angeles, California
glendaleOUT is hosting their 2nd annual Pride in the Park Queer Family Picnic. This is an all-invited, all inclusive community picnic!

June 17th: The Pride Bar Crawl – Washington D.C.
Celebrate Pride in style at DC’s 6th annual largest Pride-themed bar crawl event. Join thousands as the crew hits up the hottest bars and clubs in town to revel in the spirit of the LGBTQ+ community on Saturday, June 17th!

1000 + People Expected, 5+ Venues, 2 Drinks or Shots and an invigorating after party!

The 2022 Pride Crawl was a huge success and they were able to donate $22,653 to the Trevor Project. This year, they are donating locally!

June 17th: LGBTQ People of Color Support Group – via Zoom hosted by The DC Center for the LGBT Community

This peer support group is an outlet for LGBTQ+ people of color to come together and talk about anything affecting them. This space strives to be safe and judgment-free.

The zoom will entail watching movies, poetry, storytelling, and or conversation with others.

June 17th: South Asian LGBTQ+ Support Group – via Zoom hosted by The DC Center for the LGBT Community

KhushDC provides a safe, confidential space for South Asian LGBTQ community members to come together and share experiences. The peer support group is an outlet for South Asian-identified LGBTQ individuals to come and talk about anything affecting them. It’s a secure, judgement-free environment to discuss relationships, sexuality, health, well-being, identity, culture, religion, or anything that is on your mind. Please feel free to join, and share stories, learn about available resources, and join our community.

June 24th: Houston Pride Parade – Houston, Texas
The Houston Texas Pride Parade is a significant event that celebrates the LGBTQ+ community in Houston, Texas. It is a vibrant and colorful parade that takes place during the Houston Pride Month festivities. The parade typically features floats, marchers, and various community organizations, businesses, and allies who come together to show their support for LGBTQ+ rights and equality.

June 25th: NYC Pride Island – Brooklyn, New York City
Pride Island concludes Pride Week with a dazzling showcase of dance, lights, and music. Remixer Guy Scheiman from Tel Aviv, along with Karina Kay, and DJ Mor Avrahmi from Forever Tel Aviv, will be spinning tunes to keep the crowd dancing throughout the night. Head to Brooklyn Army Terminal for a memorable experience filled with food, interactive activities, and more.
